This is a new Suzuki sedan that has just been launched in the Indian car market. This Suzuki sedan is a large sedan with a 2,650 mm wheelbase and measures 4,490 mm in length, 1,730 mm in width, and 1,485 mm in height.
Technically, this is a B-segment sedan, but it maximizes interior space, which is similar to that of a C-segment car, by shortening the overhangs. The 510 liters of boot space is also very impressive.
It comes with premium features that include push-button start, all-round electric windows, a touch-screen infotainment system, leather seats and wood like inserts for the dashboard and upper door panels.
Power comes from a 1.3-liter Fiat-sourced Multijet engine producing 90PS at 4,000 rpm and 200Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. That might not sound very impressive, but the Ciaz is supposed to be the most fuel efficient car sold in India. Its economy rating of 26.21-km/l tops the Honda City sedan’s rating of 26-km/l, but only just. In other words, this diesel-powered Suzuki burns just 3.8-liters per 100 kilometers.
The Suzuki Ciaz will also be offered with a petrol engine, delivering 92PS and 130Nm of torque. This can be optioned with a 4-speed manual, while the 1.3 diesel can only be had with a 5-speed manual.
No news at yet on its possible arrival here in Malaysia but looking at the physical looks and good equipment in the cabin it would be a good seller here to compete with the Nissan Almera.
