The Mercedes-AMG E63 S gets the Brabus 800 treatment.
The Mercedes-AMG E63 S is already one of the most powerful sports sedans any manufacturer will sell you. However, if you want something that’s a little more unique, powerful and laden with carbon fibre, you might be interested in the all-new Brabus 800 based on that same vehicle.
This isn’t the only Brabus 800
No. If you head into the supercars section of the Brabus website, you’ll find plenty of G Wagons and S 63 derivatives rocking that name. That’s because the ‘800’ refers to the horsepower rating in Brabus speak. This 2021 Mercedes-AMG E63 S was given a facelift in the middle of last year. The most significant change was the design, which updated the E-Class to the latest developments in Sensual Purity. Under the hood, it was still the same 4-litre Biturbo V8 with a 9-speed AMG Speedshift MCT.
The Brabus 800 takes the original engine’s 612 hp up to – you guessed it – 800 hp, but also adds quite a few interesting appointments as well. This includes a valve-controlled sports exhaust system, 21″ forged wheels and custom made carbon aerodynamic enhancement bodykit.
Being a Brabus conversion, the interior has been given a few significant signature upgrades. There are stainless steel doorsills with the Brabus logo that glows in the same hue as the car’s ambient lighting. Also present are Brabus door pins, aluminium paddle shifters, aluminium pedals and in-house saddlery that can be customised.
The new exterior bodykit includes:
- custom spoiler lip
- front air inlets on the left and right
- rear spoiler and diffusor
The wheels are forged 21″ Monoblock “Platinum Edition” Z wheels. They have a 10-spoke design. It’s a custom design from Brabus and features red pin striping that matches the stripes on the grille. High performance tyres from Continental, Pirelli and Yokohama can be optioned.
The Brabus high-performance stainless steel exhaust system with carbon tailpipes are valve adjustable. Volume levels range from very quiet “coming home’ mode to very loud “Race” mode.
A Brabus Suspension module allows for height adjustment between ten to twenty millimeters depending on the selected drive mode.
Finally, there’s the true reason to buy a Brabus, the power under the hood. There’s now a BRABUS B40S-800 PowerXtra module that remaps the injection and ignition for that extra grunt. New high-performance turbochargers with more boost pressure adds to that. 0-100km/h is achieved in just 3 seconds (versus 3.4 seconds in the AMG E63 S) and the top speed is limited to 300km/h.
