Toyota Fortuner With Tithum Bodykit Looks The Part

Why not give your tall-riding SUV a more menacing presence?

The facelifted Toyota Fortuner is one heck of a good looking SUV but that doesn’t stop bodykit manufacturers from coming up with their own offerings to somehow elevate its look. While some bodykits are just too outlandish and busy, this one perfectly complements the Fortuner’s chiseled lines, with the right amount of aggressiveness.

Designed by a Thai-based company called Tithum, the bodykit consists of front and rear bumper spoilers, new grille insert and then some. The use of the bumper spoiler results in an extended chin, which looks robust thanks to the skid plate. There is also a chrome/gloss black garnish that follows the shape of the spoiler, as well as yellow daytime running lights in the corners.

On the sides, the presence of side steps means side skirts are unnecessary but to add visual flair to the side profile of the Fortuner, Tithum has added gloss black garnish on the lower part of the door.

The rear bumper spoiler is as prominent as the front but here fake quad exhaust tips are present to complete the assertive look Thitum is trying to achieve. The roof-mounted spoiler has been kept in place so as to not spoil the overall appearance of the pickup truck-based SUV.

The bodykit is originally designed for the Fortuner Legender, which is the name given to the top-spec variant of the Fortuner for the Thai market. Closer to home, the range-topper is called the Fortuner 2.8 VRZ, which is powered by the 2.8-litre turbodiesel engine 204 PS and 500 Nm that’s also found in the Hilux Rogue.

Positioned below it is the Fortuner 2.7 SRZ that is powered by the 2.7-litre petrol engine that makes 166 PS and 245 Nm of torque. No matter which one you go for, the Fortuner gets a six-speed automatic transmission that channels the output via a part-time 4WD system.
