0Hyundai Elantra N Could Be A Discount BMW M Car
The headlines have been dominated by Hyundai and their N division this week. Just yesterday, we shared news about the Hyundai Tucson N Line – a sporty looking variant of the upcoming fourth generation mid-sized SUV from the Korean company. The day before that, we shared news of the Sonata N Line, the company’s D-segment performance sedan. Today, it’s about a true performance machine – the Elantra N.
No, this is not the Elantra N Line we mentioned some months back. This is a a proper Hyundai N performance sedan based on the new Elantra platform. Although specs were not shared, all indicators point toward the company’s turbocharged 2.0L SmartStream gasoline engine finding its way into this C-segment sports sedan. Sending power to the front wheels is likely Hyundai N’s 8-speed Dual Clutch Transmission.
Although disguised, its silhouette points to some noticeable differences from the standard Elantra and Elantra N Line models. The intakes, front diffuser and grille appear to be a little sportier. Behind, we see a much larger spoiler as well as twin exhausts. The rear of the Elantra N also looks a lot more dynamic than the N Line model.
Besides the camouflaged Elantra N, Hyundai also indicated that at least 2 more vehicles will be added to their family of ‘N’ and ‘N Line’ vehicles. The current selection includes:
- i30 N
- Elantra N Line
- Sonata N Line
- Tucson N Line
- Elantra N
Here’s the press release with more.
