A 32-year-old engineer was killed while his wife and two children survived in a tragic accident involving two cars at Persiaran Tun Teja, near Alam Impian on Saturday (September 26).
Shah Alam district police chief assistant commissioner Baharudin Mat Taib said the accident happened when a Proton Perdana travelling on Persiaran Panglima Sultan skidded before colliding with the victim’s Perodua Aruz which was coming from the Alam Impian toll plaza.
Unfortunately, as a result of the impact, Ahmad Safwan died on the spot while his wife, Nur Syahirah (33) and two children, Damia Husna (5) and Ahmad Adam Harraz (3) were injured and taken to Shah Alam Hospital for treatment.
The Perdana driver, an unnamed 36-year-old-man, also suffered injuries and was rushed to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital for treatment. According to Baharuddin, he is currently being treated in the red zone. His blood samples have been taken for drug and alcohol tests.
Judging from the pictures, it would appear that the collision had occurred at a high speed, with the driver-side A-pillar and door of the Aruz completely crushed. The SUV’s curtain airbags have also been deployed, which says a lot about the severity of the impact.
Speaking to reporters, Nur Syahirah said that they were on their way home after the deceased had his hair cut in Section 19.
