The new Hyundai Santa Fe was shown not too long ago, and already the company has released N Performance parts for the SUV. Just a reminder, this new Santa Fe may LOOK like a facelift, but it actually sits on an all-new platform.
The N Performance Package for the Santa Fe is already available in South Korea, but will undoubtably be made available in Europe after the SUV goes on sale there in September. Thanks to the Korean Car Blog for supplying the information relating to this post.
The N Performance Package consists of both aesthetic and mechanical enhancements. High-grade materials such as carbon fibre and Alcantara have been employed here. In terms of actual performance-enhancing parts, we see new N Performance brakes and larger 21″ rims painted in black. We see suspension parts that are painted red, indicating they too may be made for the N Performance package, but no information on this was shared. We also see a new spoiler, fender flares, diffuser. These, along with the new side steps and bumpers may change the aerodynamic characteristics of the new Santa Fe.
Carbon fibre was used for that new diffuser, and we also see that material featured on the side mirror covers and bonnet garnish. In terms of aesthetics, there’s a new N Performance grille that’s finished in black with Sahara Beige highlights.
Inside, we see N Sport Seats finished in leather and Alcantara with red inserts. The same premium material is used to cover the dashboard of the vehicle with carbon fibre finishing on the steering wheel and other trim pieces.
About the new Hyundai Santa Fe
The new Hyundai Santa Fe is the first Hyundai model in Europe and first Hyundai SUV globally based on the all-new third-generation Hyundai vehicle platform. The new platform allows for significant improvements in performance, handling, fuel efficiency and safety.
By featuring a system that controls the flow of air, the new platform improves air movement through the engine bay and allows heat to dissipate. This enhances stability in the lower part of the vehicle. Vehicle stability is further enhanced by the lowered position of heavy equipment within the platform, which reduces weight and lowers the centre of gravity. Aerodynamics have also been improved so that air resistance is minimised to deliver excellent fuel efficiency, power and driving performance.
The fixed points for the steering arms have been positioned closer to the middle of the front wheels, allowing for more agile handling. Meanwhile, noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) performance is improved through reinforced sound-absorbing systems in vibration-sensitive parts.
The new platform also brings with it significant improvements in collision safety, thanks to improvements in engineering. Through the use of a multi-load path structure, hot stamping, and the integration of a super high-tensile steel plate, the platform will enable the car to better absorb the impact in the event of a collision while at the same time minimising the deformation of the passenger space.
The new Hyundai Santa Fe will be available in Europe starting September 2020.
