Goodyear, one of the world’s leading tire brands, has again been awarded a Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand award in Malaysia. Winning the tire category for the sixth consecutive year, the recognition is a strong testament of the quality products and services that Goodyear delivers to consumers. Goodyear first began selling tires in Malaysia in 1929 and has been manufacturing locally since 1972. Today, Goodyear is one of the leading tire companies in Malaysia producing and selling a wide range of products for passenger, light truck, truck, bus and 4X4 vehicles.
“This recognition is an excellent endorsement from consumers for Goodyear’s market-back innovation strategy, where we are focused on bringing meaningful benefits to drivers that they want and need,” said Goodyear Malaysia’s Managing Director Ivy Peng.
“Whether it is providing improved wet braking capabilities, delivering a higher level of tire durability, reducing noise or increasing fuel savings—the focus of our products is always on the consumer.
“The Goodyear Malaysia team is thrilled to have won the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand award for the sixth year in the row and we would also like to thank and recognize our dedicated Goodyear dealers who deliver premium services to customers to match our quality products.
“Consumers will continue to see our focus on the delivery of leading products and services this year—including the extension of our Worry Free Assurance program to provide added peace of mind to our consumers by protecting selected tire patterns against road hazard damages,” Peng concluded.
The Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand proprietary research study is recognized as one of the most representative and objective branding surveys in the region. Now in its 16th year, the survey is carried out in seven markets across Asia (Malaysia, Hong Kong, India, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand) to determine the brands most trusted by consumers in 42 different product and service categories. The Asian survey is part of a broader initiative by Reader’s Digest, which also conducts Trusted Brand surveys in Australia and New Zealand, North and South America and Europe.
The survey for the awards was conducted by Ipsos, a globally respected research organization. This underlines the objectivity and credibility of the Trusted Brand awards. The judging criteria was based on six qualitative factors; Trustworthiness and Credibility, Quality, Value, Understanding of Customer Needs, Innovation and Social Responsibility.
In addition to being a trusted brand among consumers, Goodyear is also a trusted brand among leading car manufacturers as a preferred original equipment supplier. As a leader in the original equipment segment, Goodyear Malaysia supplies to the majority of major car manufacturers and assemblers in the country, such as Honda, Volkswagen, Perodua, Inokom-Hyundai and Mazda, amongst others.
