GoCar also replies to us with some useful advice
Recently, GoCar shared with us a press release on their discounted offer to medical frontliners to use their vehicles and also their collaboration with Shell to offer petrol vouchers. We happened to drive into a Shell station with a GoCar parking area right across from the University Hospital in Petaling Jaya.
Parked at the GoCar bay was a Nissan Almera with a rear flat tire and we highlighted this in our article. Yes, it was during the early weeks of lockdown but we wanted to get the attention of the GoCar team to get a breakdown person to attend to this car so as to allow medical frontliners from the University Hospital in Petaling Jaya to to able to take up this generous offer.
Here below is their quick response to our article.
Hi, thanks for bringing this up. Appreciate it much especially now due to the MCO lockdown.
To share more, this particular car at Shell Jalan Gasing has been blocked in our system (the cars are not available for booking) few days after MCO started due to a couple of car issues. And since MCO, the regulations set by the government prevented us to further fix it. To name one of the examples, our official appointed workshop is closed, and hence we will not be able to do the necessary needed. Our Fleet team is still making sure as best as possible to keep the car clean, and hope to bring that particular car for service the moment we can.
During this MCO period, it’s harder for all business and we understand we will be facing more obstacles especially with operational issues. And with the overwhelming interest by the healthcare frontliners, starting 15 April, we have opened up all GoCar locations to cope with the number of signups coming into our system (in case we cannot replace the booked GoCars on time). Till date, there are near to 100 healthcare frontliners who booked GoCar for a week. And that is why certain locations do not have available GoCars at the moment. =) Aside from Shell Jalan Gasing, the next best nearest GoCar locations to PPUM is Shell Jalan University or Axis Business Park (Fuji Xerox). We are trying our best to keep up the service, and so far the supply is able to keep with the demands, with no frontliners requesting more cars now.
On a separate note, we have another press release coming up next week, focusing on enhancing our users’ journey especially during this lockdown period. We will definitely keep the community (and yourself) posted on this ?
Again, thanks so much for featuring our past press releases and supporting the community effort. Stay safe!
