This is an all-new and all-secret BMW Concept Roadster. It is the first ‘streetfighter’ to use the new BMW engine. At the heart of this BMW Concept Roadster you will find the iconic boxer in its latest version capable of delivering 125 hp @7,750 rpm and 125 Nm at 6,500 revs and it will most likely be mated to a sport-oriented 6-speed transmission. Pretty much all you used to know about the boxer machines is now gone, as the livery of the BMW Concept Roadster is minimalist and truly evil looking.
Above the large boxer engine is a stubby fuel giving the bike and extremely compact look, with most of its mass centralized in the engine area. The milled aluminum tail section and its glossy finish draws attention to us with its uncanny presence reminding of both the “shark gills” of the S1000RR and the two “prongs” of the new R1200GS.
Milled aluminium can be seen in many other places around the bike and it looks like it is the “theme” of the machine. Also with its matt shine finish though obviously not in aluminum, the underbelly exhaust acts as a chin spoiler and as silencer, with the end pipe sticking proudly upwards under the seat. With discreet and yet-catching eon yellow accents, the valve covers also act like sliders and might grow to tell wonderful stories. This is an aggressive looking bike with power to match its looks.
