Flux, the Malaysian car subscription company, have dropped the prices of Toyota models by more than 12% across the board.
Here are some examples from their portfolio:
On the lower end of things, they have a 2017 Toyota Vios 1.5 G that was RM1382 a month now being listed for just RM1211. That 12.4% decrease in monthly payments brings the cost of a 3-year subscription down by RM6,156.
One of Flux’s most popular offerings, the Sienta, has received a similarly chunky discount. A 2018 Toyota Sienta V was listed at RM1809 but is now RM1582 per month. That’s a 12.5% price decrease that brings the cost of ‘subcriptionship‘ down by RM8,172 over their default 36 month subscription period.
Actually, there’s another Sienta on the platform that’s much cheaper. It’s a 2016 model with nearly 25,000km on it versus the 2018 model mentioned above with under 9,000km on the clock. But they’re both hardy Toyotas, and Flux covers the maintenance costs associated with every subscription anyways. What you ARE paying for are things seats, springs and panels with less wear and tear on them. These things are barely perceivable by most car owners, but there is a difference in how cars feel as they age. Still, RM1288 per month for a very practical, stylish Toyota is a pretty good deal considered it’s an all-in cost: road tax, insurance, maintenance and depreciation included.
Those looking for a bit of ‘gaya’ can benefit from the 12.9% price drop on the current Toyota Camry 2.5 V model. They’ve got one from 2018 that was listed at RM3,075 per month now going for just RM2677 a month. That’s a drop of RM14,328 over 3 years!
