As reported last week, Kia Motors have shown a new crossover concept for the Indian market. The Kia Sonet Concept came to the Delhi Auto Expo 2020, bringing quite a sophisticated look to a small package. It will likely go into production at the Indian plant with some modifications. The Sonet takes inspiration from the Indian market but Kia may eventually make the production version available on the global market, depending on demand.
When we say it took inspiration from the Indian market, what we mean is that Kia actually incorporated stepwell geometry within the grille mesh. That sort of design motif is often associated with Indian architecture. The concept comes with retractable door handles, but seeing these on the production version might be a little too optimistic.
The Sonet gets pretty modern touches throughout, including a 10.25″ infotainment units with navigation, a Bose premium audio system as well as an intelligent manual transmission (which was not elaborated on).
