Back in May of 2013, Olympus announced a new Micro Four Thirds camera in the form of the Olympus PEN E-PL6. Well it looks like they could be getting ready to follow up with a successor, according to the folks at Photo Rumors who suggests that an Olympus PEN E-PL7 is on its way.
The full and exact specifications of the camera remain unknown for now, along with a possible design, release date, or price. However what we do know about the camera at the moment is that it will pack a 16MP sensor, 81 AF points, 8fps continuous shooting, and a 3-inch vari-angle touchscreen LCD. Everything else is a mystery at this point in time.
Interestingly enough these alleged specifications seem to be the same specs as that of the PEN E-PL6. The E-PL6 also featured a 16MP sensor and 8fps continuous shooting. It even had a tiltable touchscreen display, all of which seems to suggest that maybe the E-PL7 might not be as big an upgrade as one might think, but we guess we’ll just have to wait for the official announcement to confirm it.
