Famous American rapper Dr. Dre has just sold Beats Electronics for USD3.2 billion, becoming in his own words the first billionaire in hip hot. The company founded by music producer Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre is, amongst other things, producing the bank of speakers and car audio systems for Chrysler and will potentially impact Fiats and Dodges as well. The announcement was made by American Grammy-nominated R&B singer-songwriter and actor Tyrese Darnell Gibson last week, as he was invited to a celebratory party. Tyrese posted a picture of Dr. Dre and himself on his Instragram account last week, saying the following.
“Tonight Hip Hop changed forever and I was there to pay my respects! Apple = Beats 3.2 billion!! The night everything changed!! #Inspired Whoa!!!”
For now, we’re still waiting on the official confirmation from Apple, which considering it’s payed so much money for the company will probably have a lot to say. Rumors of the deal have been on everyones lips for a couple a weeks now. It seem that with this deal Apple is trying to help revitalize Apple`s own iTunes Radio, considering that they bought the entire package of the company, including a music streaming service. Started as a small company producing headphones, in 2008, Dr. Dre`s Beats Electronics is now providing the bank off speakers and car audio systems for Chrysler. With this deal Dr. Dre dethroned P Diddy, as the wealthiest hip hop artist in the world.
Does this influence cars industry? Well, it does, considering that the company is producing the car sound systems for Chrysler and is planning to develop further to Fiat and Dodge cars. Are you a happy owner of a Chrysler 300? Then chances are you hear the music exactly like the Dr. Dre’s company intended you to. The deal was made in 2011 and the first vehicle under the partnership was its 2012 Chrysler 300S luxury sedan, which included a 10-speaker Beats by Dr. Dre sound system. At the beginning of the year, Fiat also announced the ‘Beats’ Edition Fiat 500L. Not only does the 5-door hatch feature a better sound system, but its looks have also been amplified looks, thanks to a brushed aluminum finish and lots of dark accents. The Beats 500L is kitted out with a whopping 520W system for your killer vibes.
So what about the Apple side of things? Where does Steve Jobs’ legacy fit into all this? Well, the company making your iPhones and iPads is currently trying to make the user interface feel just as familiar as your smartphone menus. No doubt there will be a Beat logo somewhere in they CarPlay interface when it makes its way to many manufacture’s infotainment systems.
