Mitsubishi XPANDER Cross Might Not Arrive In Malaysia in 2019

Its arrival in Malaysia is delayed with the arrival of our NAP.

With the current delay in the 2019 National Automotive Policy (NAP) 2019, the family-friendly 7-seat Mitsubishi XPANDER Cross will not be launched this 2019 and instead we could be looking at an April or May 2020 launch.

The XPANDER Cross is 50 mm (2-inches) wider than the standard vehicle due to the broader wheel arches, housing larger profile tires on 17-inch alloys. The jacked-up people carrier also debuts two new colors: Graphite Gray metallic and Sunrise Orange metallic – the latter exclusive for XPANDER Cross.

Both can be combined with a black/brown interior trim with a silver mesh decoration panel. and has a stylish exterior along with a versatile and comfortable cabin. The crossover MPV sits at the top of the XPANDER lineup and provides the practical and rugged features desired by drivers in ASEAN.

The exterior of the vehicle has the most recent version of the Dynamic Shield, which has a geometric design. The lower bumper has a skid plate design to add to the bold look. Plus, the headlamps and front fog lamps include LED lights for improved visibility.

The XPANDER Cross incorporates SUV styling into the exterior with black wide wheel arches, 17-inch alloy wheels, and door garnishes. There are also silver-colored roof rails, a larger skid plate on the lower area of the rear bumper, and a piano black tailgate garnish located beneath the rear window.

You can select between the new Sunrise Orange metallic or Graphite Gray metallic colors for the exterior. Along with having a dynamic exterior, the crossover MPV also offers best-in-class ground clearance so that it can handle rough terrains.

Inside the XPANDER Cross, vibration-blocking and sound-absorbing material keep the area quiet. The 1.5-liter petrol engine is also relatively quiet as well as fuel-efficient.

Up to seven passengers can sit in the cabin, which has best-in-class interior space. The second-row seat has room for three passengers and can fold down so that passengers can reach the third row more easily. The second row has a 60/40 split, while the third row has a 50/50 split.

Other interior features include cubby holes, high-contrast color instrument panel meters, steering wheel with tilt and telescopic adjustment, Cruise Control, and best-in-class air conditioning.

The Mitsubishi XPANDER has become Mitsubishi Motors’ fourth-largest sales model in the 2018 fiscal year, with around 104,000 units reaching new customers. We are sure the 2019 sales figure will be even more impressive.
