This might be the new Volkswagen Tiguan as presented by British magazine Auto Express.

According to auto express’s vision, the popular SUV will lose its robust and angular shapes to the detriment of a more beautifully carved body and a roof that is sloping down at the rear.

This 2020 Tiguan will keep the extended wheelbase version, which is currently sold only in the Chinese market and among the engine options there will be an electrified one with petrol power as well. The latter will contain a 48 V starter generator that will provide support in the first seconds of acceleration from ignition.

This new 2020 Tiguan will probably be offered with a level 3 or higher autopilot system, and the engine range will be shared with that of the new Golf 8, which will be launched in a few weeks time.

The list of units will include three and four-cylinder aggregates, with volumes between 1.0 and 2.0 liters, and the gearboxes will be a new DSG with seven or even eight-speed. The top of the range will be the Tiguan R, which will produce about 350 hp from a four-cylinder turbo petrol engine.
