Audi A4 Facelift Targets BMW 3 and Mercedes C
Here comes an updated Audi A4. This car has been the cornerstone of Audi’s line-up since the mid-1990s and this is the most important set of changes the fifth-generation B9 has received since its launch in 2016.
The most important update as mentioned by the marketers at Ingolstadt (Audi’s headquarters) to the A4 in 2020 will be its new mild-hybrid system that is very mild and just partially hybrid.
We however feel that the most notable changes are the visual updates together with the cabin updates.
Its direct rival from Germany, the new BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class have the lion share of sales in Malaysia, but Audi in Malaysia has recently woken up and are in the progress of baring its fangs at its rivals with quick model updates and larger product offering as it maintains it CBU only status.
The engines that will be offered include three 2.0-litre TFSI petrol motors all featuring a 12V mild hybrid system with power outputs ranging from 150 to a healthy 244bhp.
The S4 model which will rival the popular Mercedes-AMG C43 will be offered only with a 3.0-litre TDI engine mated to 48V mild hybrid system that brings it total power output to 347bhp and 700Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with Quattro all-wheel-drive and sports differential and suspension with variable damping.
The diesel will only drink high quality fuel which Malaysia lacks at the moment and this might prevent its arrival here.
Here are the pictures that were shared online and more information on its performance will be shared in coming days.
