The Honda HR-V RS Is Now with Black Upholstery

The Honda HR-V RS, which we talked about in March, is now available with an all-black interior. It is essentially the same car, but with all the ivory coloured interior parts replaced in black. The Ivory interior will no longer be offered.

This includes the centre console, front panel, driver and passenger seats and door panel lining. The headliner, which was already finished in black previously, has been retained. This gives the HR-V RS the same seat covers as the HR-V V spec – full leather in black.

The new colour option was provided in response to customer feedback.

In spite of customers asking for the darker cabin, the HR-V RS with its Ivory interior was a reasonably popular option since its launch in 2018.

Honda Malaysia say 20% of all HR-V bookings going towards this particular variant.

Press Release:

Honda Malaysia (or the Company) today introduced a new stylish black interior to the New HR-V RS variant to level up its overall sporty look. The introduction of the black interior was the Company’s response to customers’
feedback for an enhanced touch of sophistication in the interior styling while enhancing the Joy of Owning a Honda car for its customers. Replacing the Ivory colour interior, the new black interior is fitted out in the centre console, front panel, driver and passenger seat (front and rear) as well as door panel lining.

Honda Malaysia has received more than 12,200 bookings for the New HR-V of which more than 7,000 units have been delivered to customers since its official launch in January 2019. This remarkable sales figure makes up close to 60% of the model’s yearly sales target in just four months. The RS variant was introduced for the first time to the New HR-V line-up and since then it has been very well received and contributed 20% to the total New HR-V sales. The New HR-V proudly dominated 86% of market share and continues to lead the Compact SUV segment as of March 2019, upholding
the Company’s positions as No.1 in the Non-National Segment and No. 2 in overall Total Industry Volume (TIV).

The New HR-V RS is powered by a 1.8L SOHC i-VTEC engine combined with
Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) that delivers a balance of performance and fuel efficiency. It is also equipped with an exciting new feature – the Variable Gear Ratio (VGR) steering system for a sportier driving experience. The enhancement of the new stylish black interior complements the RS variant’s existing Sporty 18-inch Dual-Tone Alloy Wheels, Sporty Design Front Grille and sporty black front and rear bumper.

With the sleek new interior colour, the New HR-V now exudes an even more sophisticated personality to go with its practical and functional features such as the Multi-Utility Cargo Space which offers class-leading cabin space. The New HR-V also sets a new benchmark in the Compact SUV segment by introducing value-added features such as Multi-Angle Rearview Camera, 8-Way Driver Power Seat (V & RS), full leather seats (V & RS), Honda LaneWatch camera (V & RS), Cruise Control and Paddle Shift. Standard safety features in the New HR-V include 6 Airbags, Emergency
Stop Signal (ESS), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and ISO Fix.

The HR-V has grown in popularity since it was first launched back in 2015. The complete line-up of variants offered in the New HR-V was targeted and planned to meet the demands and requirements of customers for performance, fuel-efficiency and practicality. The New HR-V aims to reach various groups of Malaysians including singles, young adults, married couples and families.

The New HR-V is available in 5 colour options namely Passion Red Pearl*, Modern Steel Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, Ruse Black Metallic, and White Orchid Pearl.
