KTM engineers have prepared a nice surprise for the fans of sport motorcycles, as the company will launch its new RC390 in the second half of 2014. The new sport motorcycle is based on the 390 Duke but it comes with a comprehensive list of modifications that were specially made to make it better suited for the track.
Apart from the full fairing, the stiffer suspension, shorter wheelbase and the revised rake, the new RC 390 will also come with a 178.5 mm ground clearance and an 820 mm seat height which is slightly taller than the one of the 390 Duke.
Even if both motorcycles share the same engine, the RC390’s unit will feature altered final drive ratios and ECU modifications which should translate directly into a more linear power delivery. Theoretically the power output should remain in the 43bhp range. As far as performances are concerned, the new RC 390’s maximum speed should be similar with the one offered by its sibling, which is 162km/h.
