At the 2019 Seoul Motor Show, Hyundai showed their new (and very impressive looking) Sonata with a 1.6 Turbocharged engine. The Hyundai Sonata 1.6 Turbo will feature a ‘Smart Stream G1.6 T-GDi’ petrol engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission as well as a few design enhancements to distinguish it from the regular Sonatas.
The first thing you might notice about this Sonata Turbo is its front grille. This particular design motif is a first from Hyundai and they’ve come to call it the ‘Parametric Jewel’ grille. This grille design is wide and flanked by air ducts beneath the headlights.
This turbo model also brings a wing-shaped rear spoiler (that Hyundai say is functional), a redesigned rear bumper as well as twin-tip exhaust mufflers.
Just like other Sonata variants, the Sonata Turbo will be built on an advanced new platform and feature a Digital Key, Built-in Cam, Voice Recognition Assistant Service, and Passenger Comfort Seat, amongst other new technologies.
