Did you know that Toyota in Japan also produces some exciting, globally unavailable cars designated just for the Japanese local market? Among them is the Mark X sedan, an alternative to the Toyota Camry which has just seen a new model being unveiled.
The 2019 Toyota Mark X, with a length of 4.8 meters, is considered to be the sportiest sedan in the company’s “domestic” range of models. This Mark X is equipped with a range of V6 engines and can also be driven by an all-wheel drive system.
The new Mark X ‘GRMN’ version uses a naturally aspirated V6 3.5 liter (2GR-FSE) engine producing 318hp at 6,400 rpm and 380Nm at 4,800 Nm.
The main distinctive feature of the Mark X ‘GRMN’ version is the presence of a 6-speed manual gearbox instead of the standard automatic transmission.
This Toyota Mark X GRMN exterior is almost identical to the GR Sport series version, whose main feature is the outer kit and aggressive bumpers. Standard BBS wheels use 235/40 R19 tires at the front and 255/35 R19 tires at the rear. In the interior there are profiled sports seats, a new steering wheel and Alcantara / carbon fiber inserts.
On the Japanese market, the Toyota Mark X GRMN will be launched in March 2019 at a price of about USD47,500, while a 3.5-liter stock sedan will cost from USD35,600. Arrival in Malaysia will be a year or two later as a reconditioned used vehicle.
