This is not our first mention of the Hyundai Elantra. It is not even the first review of this particular model, in this particular colour. So, why have we decided to revisit the Elantra Sport?
2 reasons, really.
First, the car itself did a LOT of things right.
Of all the mass-market sedans we test drove this year, NONE could match up to the Elantra Sport’s performance. Not only is it really quick, but it handles beautifully. Cover up the badge on the steering wheel and you may as well be in something worth nearly RM200,000 in terms of driving feel. Yet Hyundai offer the Elantra Sport for just over RM124,000.
Second, it wasn’t getting enough attention from Malaysians.
This is not something we can blame Malaysians for. The car itself is beautiful and elegant from the outside. It’s priced right.
It has performance to blow minds. But the bright red leather seats on the inside can be a deal breaker for many. It’s just nothing like the rest of the car.
We’re in the midst of editing a video review that will elaborate our thoughts a little better. Stay tuned for that.
In the mean time, if you’re looking for a family sedan with serious performance, take a free test drive and find out why we’re so impressed.
