Four Audi customer driver pairings will contest the final two rounds of the 2018 Blancpain GT Series Asia this weekend at China’s Ningbo International Speedpark, with two still in contention to lift the Silver and Pro-Am championship titles.
Absolute Racing’s Cheng Congfu of China and Martin Rump of Estonia lie fourth in the Silver standings after a strong season which most recently saw them take a second place finish in Shanghai last month. OD Racing Team WRT’s Aditya Patel and Mitch Gilbert will be looking to end their season on a high as they take to the 4.010km track.
In the race for the Pro-Am title, Belgian Alessio Picariello and China’s Anthony Liu resume their successful partnership which saw them take a class victory in Shanghai together. Liu is fifth in the standings and mathematically still in with a chance at lifting the title in his Absolute Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3. Teammates Andrew Kim and Adderly Fong also had a strong showing in the Pro-Am class in Shanghai, finishing second.
The Am pairing of KCMG’s Naoto Takeda and Takuya Shirasaka will be absent from Ningbo having already clinched the class championship title in Shanghai after dominating the season.
“We wish all four of our teams the very best of luck in the Blancpain GT Series Asia season finale,” said Martin Kuehl, Director of Audi Sport customer racing Asia. “This race weekend offers our drivers a chance to put everything behind them and finish the season on a high.”
