Apart from the updated CX-3, Bermaz Motor also took the opportunity to launch the updated Mazda6. The 2018 lineup comprises of 2.0, 2.5 petrol and 2.2 diesel variants, with Sedan and Touring body styles.
The latest version is refined with significant exterior changes, which include new front grille, LED headlamp and wheel designs. The bumper is also restyled with air vents to improve the aerodynamic performance by channeling air to the front tyres. The rear features a new chrome finish, sharp rear lamp design as well as new tailpipe which is positioned closer to the outer edges of the vehicle.
Inside, the dashboard has been widened while the Mazda Connect infotainment display has been enlarged to an eight-inch display, placed higher for a reduced viewing angle to provide better visibility at a glance. It also has colour Active Driving Display and wider front seats to increase physical support for both driver and passenger. A USB charging point is available in the rear centre armrest in addition to the standard cup holders.
The vehicle dynamics continue to be improved with redesigned suspension and reinforced chassis bracing, while NVH is upgraded with thicker door panels, outer glass, headliner, and door seals. For the 2018 Mazda6, Mazda’s latest 360 degree View Monitor is adopted. It shows all sides of the vehicle during parking and reversing manoeuvres by utilizing four separate cameras to give the driver an accurate picture of the car and its surroundings.
Now equipped with an even wider range of Mazda’s i-ActiveSense advanced safety technology, the 2018 Mazda6 has Driving Attention Alert (DAA) that “learns” the driver’s behaviour at speeds above 65 km/h and warns the driver if abnormal driving patterns are detected.
On the other hand, Smart City Brake Support Rear (SCBSR) helps to prevent low-speed collision when the driver is reversing. If the system determines that a collision is unavoidable, the driver will be alerted and brakes will be applied automatically to prevent or reduce the impact of a collision.
All three variants (SkyActiv-G 2.0L, SkyActiv-G 2.5L and SkyActiv-D 2.2L) are equipped with the SkyActiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift and sports mode and G-Vectoring Control (GVC) technology. The 2.0L and 2.2L are only available in Sedan, while the 2.5L can be had in either Sedan or Touring.
There are seven colours to choose from: Snowflake White Pearl, Sonic Silver, Jet Black, Deep Crystal Blue, Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray and Titanium Flash. Selling prices will be released soon.
