Proton Will Donate RM250,000 To Support The Putra Heights Fire Victims

Proton is going above and beyond to help the victims and we are glad they are doing so

The Putra Heights fire is one of the most devastating accidents to happen here in Malaysia in recent times and many Malaysians and companies continue to give as much as they can to help the victims out. The newest addition to this list is Proton, which has stated it will donate RM250,000 to the victims.

This initiative is in response to the urgent needs of the community following the government’s announcement of financial aid for those affected by the tragedy and this support will benefit those staying at temporary evacuation centres (PPS) such as Dewan Masjid Putra Heights and Dewan Camelia, Subang Jaya City Council’s multi-purpose hall.

Moreover, Proton is aware that many affected residents have expressed concerns over the inadequacy of the financial aid they’ve received. In light of this, Proton’s contribution aims to ease the burden on these residents during this challenging time.  The fire caused extensive damage, destroying 87 homes and damaging 148 others.

A total of 399 vehicles were affected, with 225 suffering direct fire damage and 174 impacted by heat damage. Proton recognizes the immense loss experienced by these families and understands the hardship they face. The company is committed to providing practical and impactful support during this difficult period.

On top of that, Proton has designated six service centres in the affected areas to offer free, comprehensive assessments of all Proton vehicles impacted by the fire. This service will help owners determine the extent of the damage and facilitate insurance claims for necessary repairs.

Whether the cars were directly affected or relocated, Proton’s service centres will guide owners through the process, ensuring they receive proper restoration and support. For immediate assistance, affected individuals can contact Proton’s 24-hour careline at 1-800-88-8398 or reach out via WhatsApp at 012-219 5426.
