Lancia, under Stellantis, is set to return to rally racing with the Regione Piemonte Rally
Lancia may not have ever been a household name here in Malaysia but it has been a rather popular name across Europe for a while and now under the Stellantis umbrella, which is well known now here in Malaysia, Lancia is ready to return to the exciting world of rally racing and fans all across the globe, especially in Italy, are hyped up for it.
With many surprises in store, Lancia is set to unveil its new era in motorsports at the Regione Piemonte Rally in Alba (CN) from 11 to 13 April 2025. The focal point of the brand’s revival is the impressive Ypsilon Rally4 HF, the Lancia Corse HF team as well as the highly anticipated Trofeo Lancia one-make series.
Moreover, these elements demonstrate the brand’s commitment to reconnecting with its legendary rally past while embracing the future of motorsports. Honestly with the way the automotive industry is going, I really think we needed this. The Ypsilon Rally4 HF has also garnered significant attention, with over 90 units sold in just four months.
Additionally, the Trofeo Lancia series has already reached its cap of 40 participants, showcasing the car’s popularity. This front-wheel-drive rally car is designed to allow both novice and seasoned drivers to experience one of the most technical motorsport disciplines, offering high performance and the potential for victory.
Luca Napolitano, Lancia’s CEO, also said, “We are excited to begin our journey in Piedmont and strengthen our ties to the region. This marks the start of a promising, high-energy season that blends tradition with innovation. With the Ypsilon Rally4 HF and the Trofeo Lancia, we aim to bring our motorsport DNA back to the roads and into the hearts of fans who have always believed in Lancia’s legacy and future.”
On top of that, the Regione Piemonte Rally will also showcase the Lancia Corse HF Village, which will feature a hospitality area for fans with various activities to enjoy. This will provide attendees with an exclusive first look at the new Ypsilon Rally4 HF.
The Ypsilon HF, a high-performance road car, will also be on display. Featuring a 280hp, 100 percent electric engine and a century sprint time of under 5.8 seconds. Meanwhile, the Ypsilon Rally4 HF, sports a 212hp, 1.2 Turbo engine paired to a 5-speed SADEV gearbox with a mechanical limited-slip differential.
Are you excited to see Lancia return to rally racing? Also, if the brand generates enough hype during the rally, Stellantis may just pick up on the demand here in Malaysia and bring the brand here as well. Now that is something I will be truly excited to see.
