The Lamborghini Aventador owner says the false claims ruined his reputation and business
As journalists, we writers are all very familiar with the repercussions of false news. We learn, in great detail, that facts are very important in every aspect of life and we know how much trouble one can land themselves in when they report or share fake news and one man, a Chinese national who goes by Deng Sheng learned these negative impacts first hand.

Deng Sheng, the owner of a Lamborghini Aventador was recently issued a compound by JPJ and has announced his intention to take legal action against several media outlets and social media users for allegedly spreading false information stating that he was arrested for driving his own car without a valid license.
Moreover, most automakers will ensure that anyone buying their cars has a valid license and even used car dealers and AP holders do the same as well. Deng Sheng also clarified that contrary to media reports, he was not arrested for driving without a valid licence. He claims the misinformation has severely affected his personal and professional life.

Deng made a public statement detailing his troubles and stated, “The JPJ officers treated me respectfully and professionally. However, the media and individuals who spread false news have caused me immense stress and damaged my reputation.” So what really happened here?
Deng emphasized that he holds a valid international driving permit, but was unable to present it during a routine check conducted during a Hari Raya Aidilfitri integrated operation in Jalan Bangsar on Tuesday night. He was on his way home to Damansara Heights with his girlfriend after attending a fast-food restaurant launch in Kepong.

On top of that, Deng further stated, “Because I couldn’t produce my permit on the spot, I was issued a compound. I was not arrested, and my Lamborghini was never seized.” He was allowed to leave without any further issues after. To make matters worse, he also expressed frustration over being inaccurately labeled as a social media influencer by some news outlets.
“I am not a social media influencer, and I ask everyone to stop making assumptions about me. The false news has caused many people to contact me non-stop, which has been overwhelming.” Some news outlets reported that a 28-year-old content creator had been caught driving the luxury vehicle without a valid licence but JPJ clarified that the vehicle was not seized.

Deng also concluded by saying, “I urge everyone to respect the truth. Let’s stop the spread of false news and uphold responsible reporting.” We at DSF also urge everyone to verify everything before you spread misinformation too. Stop spreading fake news please.
