Bhd. has announced a significant leadership transition with the appointment of Mr. Narushi Yazaki as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1, 2025. This strategic appointment marks a new chapter for the automotive leader in Malaysia’s competitive market.

Leadership Transition at Honda Malaysia
Mr. Yazaki steps into the role previously held by Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura, who successfully steered the company through challenging market conditions over the past three years. Under Yoshimura’s leadership, Honda Malaysia maintained its dominant position in the Non-National Passenger Vehicle segment for an impressive 11 consecutive years, demonstrating remarkable resilience during the post-pandemic recovery period.

The outgoing CEO has transitioned to a new role at Honda Motor Co., Ltd. in Tokyo, Japan, where his expertise will continue to benefit the global operations of the automotive giant.
Extensive Experience Shapes New Leadership
The newly appointed CEO brings over 25 years of valuable experience with Honda to his role in Malaysia. Mr. Yazaki has developed a comprehensive understanding of global automotive markets through his previous leadership positions across multiple countries, including Japan, Thailand, and the United States.

Prior to his appointment in Malaysia, Mr. Yazaki was attached to Corporate Administration Operations at Honda’s headquarters in Tokyo, equipping him with strategic insights into the company’s global vision and operations.
Vision for Honda Malaysia’s Future
“I am honored to take on this responsibility at Honda Malaysia, a market known for its dynamic growth and significant contributions to the Honda brand in the Asia and Oceania region,” Mr. Yazaki stated upon his appointment. “I aim to build on the strong foundation laid by my predecessors and continue driving Honda Malaysia’s growth and success in this thriving market.”

This leadership transition comes at a crucial time for the automotive industry in Malaysia, which continues to evolve with increasing consumer demand for innovative, sustainable vehicle solutions – areas where Honda has consistently demonstrated strength.

Industry analysts anticipate that Mr. Yazaki’s diverse international experience will bring fresh perspectives to Honda Malaysia’s operations, potentially accelerating the company’s adaptation to emerging automotive trends, including electrification and digital transformation.
As Honda Malaysia enters this new era of leadership, the company reaffirms its commitment to delivering exceptional automotive products and services to the Malaysian market while strengthening its position as a leader in innovation and customer satisfaction.
