The Ford Ranger Super Duty is set for launch in 2026
The Ford Ranger has multiple different variants for many different purposes but now, the land down under has just gotten a new beefed up version meant for hard off-roading in the Super Duty variant which is slated for launch in 2026 in Australia. So will we see this super rugged version of the Ford Ranger here in Malaysia?

Inspired by Ford’s toughest North American pickups, the Australian-developed Ranger Super Duty has received a range of significant upgrades, making it one of the most capable and rugged trucks in its class. The 2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty features an array of upgrades to its performance and design, setting it apart from the standard Ranger.

Moreover, key improvements include a reinforced chassis, eight-stud wheels, upgraded differentials and an increased towing capacity. Additionally, the Ranger Super Duty is equipped with in-built scales, enabling users to monitor payloads via the truck’s 12-inch infotainment screen.
This tough new Ranger model will initially be available in Super Duty trim across various body styles, including single-cab two-door, extended-cab and dual-cab four-door cab/chassis variants. In mid-2026, more touring-focused versions, such as the XLT four-door pickup and cab/chassis variants, will join the lineup.

The Ford Ranger Super Duty also looks more rugged and aggressive than ever, with 33-inch General Grabber all-terrain tyres, a wider wheel track, and increased ground clearance. It also boasts a Safari snorkel, a new “open-weave mesh” grille, and a specially designed bonnet with chamfered edges and a Super Duty badge.
On top of that, under the hood, the Ford Ranger Super Duty is powered by a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6. Ford has yet to disclose exact power outputs but this engine currently makes 184kW of power and 600Nm of torque in other Ranger models. This engine is also Euro 6.2 compliant, ensuring the truck meets global emissions standards.

The Ford Ranger Super Duty is also built to tow heavy loads. With a 4500kg braked towing capacity. It also comes with a suite of ADAS features to enhance safety on the road. These include autonomous emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, surround-view camera, parking sensors and braking assist.

So will this super tough version of the Ranger be coming to Malaysia after its Australian launch? Let’s wait and see.
