Volvo Opens Bookings For Its Latest Flagship SUVs, Expected To Cost RM450,000

The Volvo XC90 and EX90 are now open for booking, will you be the first to get one?

Swedish luxury automaker, Volvo has been at the forefront of safety for as long as I can remember, and though I am still rather young, I’m willing to wager even some of our more seasoned readers will feel the same way because Volvo has always emphasised safety above profit and I am glad to report that this is still the case.

Fans of Volvo rejoice as the brand is now accepting bookings for its two flagship seven-seater SUVs, the Volvo EX90 and XC90, as part of the brand’s expanding electrified model range. Malaysia is one of the first APAC markets to introduce the Volvo EX90, following Thailand and both models are expected to go for around RM450,000. Specific trim levels to be revealed soon.

Moreover, the Volvo EX90 is Volvo’s first fully electric, seven-seater SUV, setting new benchmarks for safety, luxury, and performance. As the brand’s top-range SUV, it is equipped with cutting-edge core compute architecture and features the most advanced safety technologies inside and out. It is also software-driven, meaning it continuously improves as you drive it.

This all-electric SUV offers over 600km of range on a single charge and can achieve the century sprint in under 5 seconds. Inside, the EX90 features premium amenities such as Bowers & Wilkins High Fidelity audio and offers true seven-seater comfort, with powered folding seats for easy expansion of luggage space with the touch of a button.

On top of that, the new Volvo XC90 is a modern take on the brand’s iconic SUV. This new iteration marks the first major facelift since the current generation was launched a decade ago. The refreshed design and updated user interface bring it closer to the fully electric EX90, positioning it as a versatile plug-in hybrid (PHEV) that can appeal to almost any driver.

Both the Volvo EX90 and the new XC90 are part of Volvo Cars’ commitment to electrified vehicles, which the company defines as models equipped with a charging cable. These vehicles reflect Volvo’s sustainability ambitions and its goal of achieving net zero emissions across global operations by 2040.

The adoption of electric and PHEV models is essential in Volvo’s goal of having 90 to 100 percent of its sales come from electrified vehicles by the end of this decade.
