UD Trucks And TCIE Hand Over Quester Trucks To Sunmax Petroleum Sdn Bhd

8 heavy duty UD trucks were handed over to the Sunmax Petroleum fleet

UD Trucks, in collaboration with its exclusive distributor partner, Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd (TCIE), recently handed over eight new UD Quester heavy-duty trucks to Sunmax Petroleum Sdn Bhd (Sunmax) at an event held at Sunmax’s headquarters in Lukut, Negeri Sembilan.

This significant delivery marks a new chapter for Sunmax, which is expanding its fleet to support its growing business in the fuel supply and transportation sector. Steve Hedouin, Managing Director Hub Malaysia at UD Trucks, expressed his gratitude, saying, “We are honored that Sunmax has chosen the UD Quester models to support its business growth. The Quester range has been continuously innovated to offer smart logistics solutions, ensuring greater efficiency in a dynamic and ever-evolving market.”

Moreover, Hedouin added, “Known for its reliability, performance, and durability, the Quester truck range delivers improved fuel efficiency, safety, uptime, and cost-effectiveness—helping businesses optimize their operations and enhance their bottom line.”

The eight Quester trucks delivered to Sunmax include four Quester CWE models, and two each of the Quester GWE and GKE models, designed to transport diesel and fuel throughout Peninsular Malaysia. The Quester CWE and GWE models feature a 6×4 axle configuration with a range of 330 to 440hp, while the Quester GKE model is a 4×2 axle truck with 390hp.

All models are equipped with UD Trucks’ 11-litre GH11E engine, designed for high torque output and fuel efficiency at low engine speeds, ensuring optimal performance while minimizing fuel consumption.

On top of that, Siow Wee Chuan, Managing Director of Sunmax Petroleum, shared his excitement about the new trucks, stating, “We are thrilled to add the Quester trucks to our fleet. Our decision to go with UD Trucks was based on several factors, including efficiency, performance, dependability, and safety.”

Sunmax, established in 2019, specializes in the wholesale and transportation of petrol, diesel and lubricants, with a focus on fuel supply to bunker ships. Loh Thim Choy, Senior General Manager at TCIE, also commented on the partnership, emphasizing that the Quester range is built to provide strong performance, fuel efficiency, safety and minimal downtime across various industry segments.

All the Quester trucks for Sunmax come equipped with UD Connected Services, a wireless fleet management system that allows Sunmax to monitor fleet performance, fuel usage and track truck locations in real-time. This feature enables Sunmax to enhance fleet efficiency, reduce costs, improve uptime, and ensure optimized operations.

With these new UD Quester trucks, Sunmax is well-positioned to achieve its growth goals and continue providing high-quality service to its customers across Malaysia.
