Team Mitsubishi Ralliart Enters Asia Cross Country Rally 2025 With The Triton

The Mitsubishi Triton will prove its prowess at the Asia Cross Country Rally 2025

The Mitsubishi Triton may not be the most fancy pickup truck out there, nor is it the most tech packed, however if there is one thing the car is good at, it is at proving it can be comfortable on the road and still formidable off road, and now, it will prove this first hand at the Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) 2025.

Yes, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (Mitsubishi) has officially announced that Team Mitsubishi Ralliart will participate in the 2025 AXCR with its capable Triton pickup truck in Thailand and Cambodia this August. After this, no one can deny the capability and stunning design of the Mitsubishi Triton ever again.

Moreover, at the 46th Bangkok International Motor Show, Mitsubishi Motors unveiled the modified Triton rally car, which has undergone significant upgrades to meet the T1 specifications. With enhanced engine durability and other performance improvements, team Mitsubishi aims to reclaim the AXCR title they last won in 2022.

For the AXCR 2024, Team Mitsubishi Ralliart entered a fleet of four Triton trucks, each equipped with improved driving capabilities and refined handling for navigating rough terrains. Chayapon Yotha, the Thai driver, led the race on Leg 4, building a lead of over 20 minutes. Unfortunately, engine issues forced him to retire from the competition.

The 2025 AXCR promises to be even more challenging, as the competition is also now eight days long, covering approximately 2,500km. This marks the rally’s 30th anniversary, and the event will feature a variety of terrains, including mountainous regions, dense forests, and river crossings.

On top of that, to meet these demands, the 2025 Triton has been further optimized for durability, with an upgraded engine and refinements to the chassis, allowing it to perform reliably over the extended course. The rally car, which was unveiled at the motor show, now features a bold new livery.

The energetic red color embodies Team Mitsubishi Ralliart’s racing spirit, while the digital sandstorm graphic across the body symbolizes the cloud of dust stirred up by the vehicle. The Ralliart logo is prominently displayed on the sides, showcasing Mitsubishi Motors’ deep passion for motorsports.

The AXCR 2025 will kick off on 8 August in Pattaya, Thailand. The rally will span various terrains and will finish on 16 August in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, covering a total of 2,500km. This is definitely one rally you wouldn’t want to miss.
