Will Stellantis improve its own EV tech moving forward with Iveco helping out?
Stellantis is gaining much recognition in Malaysia for its brands like Leapmotor and Peugeot, and it is not hard to see why. However, while more Malaysians are certainly aware of Stellantis, there is still much about the brand that remains unknown. For example, did you know that Stellantis also has a dedicated division focusing on commercial vehicles?

Stellantis Pro One, the dedicated business unit of Stellantis for commercial vehicles, has announced a huge partnership with Iveco, the renowned brand of Iveco Group N.V. (EXM: IVG) that designs and manufactures light, medium and heavy commercial vehicles.
Moreover, the agreement will see Stellantis help with the supply of two all-electric Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) for the European market, marking a significant step toward sustainable mobility. These new vehicles will be based on the former’s cutting-edge all-electric mid-size and large van platforms.

Stellantis Pro One will be responsible for manufacturing these electric vans at its state-of-the-art plants in Atessa (Italy), Gliwice (Poland) and Hordain (France). Once produced, the vehicles will be delivered to Iveco Group, which will then distribute them throughout Europe, including the United Kingdom, through its extensive sales and service network.
These new models will also complement Iveco’s existing electric van lineup, including the popular eDaily, which is manufactured at the Iveco Suzzara plant in Italy and electrified in Brescia. With these additions, Iveco’s electric vehicle portfolio will cater to a wider range of customer needs, from light to heavy commercial applications.

On top of that, the 2 companies aim to launch these new all-electric vans by mid-2026 and the partnership involves a long-term commitment, with a supply agreement set to span ten years. This collaboration emphasizes the growing commitment of both Stellantis and Iveco to sustainable mobility and the reduction of carbon emissions in the commercial vehicle sector.
Jean Philippe Imparato, Chief Operating Officer of Stellantis for Enlarged Europe, expressed pride in the partnership, highlighting Stellantis’ European leadership in the LCV market and its ability to develop advanced battery technology. He said, “Our collaboration with Iveco reflects our dedication to reducing emissions and advancing sustainable mobility solutions.”

So what do you think about this? Will Iveco return the favour to Stellantis and help them develop even more attractive electric vehicle (EV) tech for their passenger vehicles in the future? Let’s wait and see.
