The Volvo EX90 is finally available in Malaysia with order books officially open.
Volvo Car Malaysia has officially opened bookings for their next generation flagship seven-seater SUV – the fully electric EX90 with pricing expected to hover around the RM450,000 mark.

Malaysia Among First APAC Markets to Receive the Volvo EX90
Following Thailand’s introduction last year, Malaysia becomes one of the first Asia Pacific markets to welcome the Volvo EX90. This launch aligns with Volvo’s global sustainability goals and electrification strategy, which aims for 90-100% electrified car sales before the end of this decade.

Volvo EX90: The Fully Electric Flagship
The EX90 represents several milestones for Volvo, being:
- Their first fully electric seven-seater model for global markets
- A top-range SUV featuring advanced core compute architecture
- Equipped with cutting-edge safety technologies both inside and outside
- Software-driven with capability improvements throughout ownership

Performance-wise, the EX90 impresses with:
- More than 600km of electric range
- 0-100km/h acceleration in under five seconds
- Bowers & Wilkins High Fidelity audio system
- True seven-seater comfort with powered folding seats

Revolutionary Design and Technology Integration
The Volvo EX90 showcases the Swedish manufacturer’s new design language with a sleek, aerodynamic silhouette that optimizes both aesthetics and efficiency. The minimalist exterior features distinctive Thor’s Hammer LED headlights and a seamless front profile that replaces the traditional grille with a smooth, sensor-integrated surface.

Inside, the EX90 introduces Volvo’s most advanced cabin experience to date, centered around a large 14.5-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen that controls nearly all vehicle functions. The interior is crafted from sustainable materials, including recycled plastics and responsibly sourced wood, reinforcing Volvo’s commitment to environmental consciousness.

The technological heart of the EX90 is its core computing system, powered by NVIDIA DRIVE platforms and Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon® Cockpit Platforms. This architecture enables advanced driver assistance systems and sophisticated infotainment capabilities, all while allowing for over-the-air updates that will continually enhance the vehicle’s functionality throughout ownership.

Safety Redefined
True to Volvo’s heritage, the EX90 sets new benchmarks in automotive safety. The SUV features an invisible safety shield created by a combination of cameras, radars, and lidar sensors. The lidar technology can detect pedestrians up to 250 meters ahead, even in complete darkness, providing unprecedented awareness of the vehicle’s surroundings.

Inside, driver monitoring sensors track attention levels and can provide warnings or even safely bring the vehicle to a stop if they detect that the driver is inattentive or incapacitated. These systems work in harmony with traditional safety features like reinforced passenger compartments and multiple airbags to create what Volvo describes as their safest vehicle ever.

Practical Luxury for Modern Families
The EX90’s three-row configuration offers genuine comfort for up to seven passengers, with thoughtful touches throughout the cabin. The second row can slide forward to increase third-row legroom, while all seats can be folded with the touch of a button to transform the interior into a versatile cargo space. With the rear seats folded, the EX90 offers up to 1,915 liters of storage capacity, accommodating everything from sports equipment to furniture.

Charging capabilities are equally impressive, with the EX90 supporting up to 250kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. For home charging, the vehicle comes with an 11kW onboard charger that can fully replenish the battery overnight. The EX90 complements Volvo’s current BEV portfolio by offering an option for customers needing more space, luxury, comfort, and technology in a powerful, fully electric package.

Volvo’s Commitment to Sustainability
The EX90 supports Volvo Cars’ sustainability ambitions, including its goal of achieving net zero emissions across global operations by 2040. The company defines electrified cars as models that come with a charging cable, encompassing both battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). Order books are now open.
