The Special Service Campaign affects 28,828 vehicles in the Philippine market, specifically those equipped with a certain engine ECU. Due to an improper engine ECU programming, under specific driving conditions, such as frequent braking in high-altitude areas, the suction pressure in the brake booster may not be maintained as designed.
Moreover, if this occurs, it could result in a harder-to-press brake pedal, potentially increasing the vehicle’s stopping distance. This issue, although rare, could affect vehicle safety under certain conditions. To ensure customer safety, Toyota Motor Philippines will notify all affected customers through an Official Notification Letter.
These vehicle owners will be invited to visit any authorized Toyota Dealer to have the Engine ECU reprogrammed at no cost. This free service aims to resolve the potential issue and maintain the vehicle’s optimal performance and safety.
