See how efficient the Nissan Kicks e-POWER is from Thailand to Malaysia
Nissan recently showcased the capabilities of the Nissan Kicks e-POWER with an exciting cross-border road trip from Hat Yai, Thailand, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This marks the first-ever cross-border journey for the Nissan Kicks e-POWER in Southeast Asia, providing participants with a unique opportunity to experience electric driving performance.
The event, themed ‘Kickstart Fun Adventures with Kicks e-POWER,’ brought together media representatives from Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines to experience the joy of cross-border driving. The vehicle is powered by a 100 percent electric motor, eliminating the need for external charging while delivering instant acceleration, smooth torque and a quiet ride.
Moreover, the ‘Kickstart Fun Adventures’ journey began in Hat Yai, a vibrant city in Southern Thailand. The 650-kilometer route passed through Betong, a picturesque border town, and continued into Malaysia, leading to Ipoh and finally, Kuala Lumpur. The journey showcased the Kicks e-POWER’s performance on a variety of terrains.
On Day 1, participants traveled from Hat Yai to Betong, navigating through lush greenery and rolling hills. The Kicks e-POWER’s responsive handling made the drive smooth and enjoyable, even on winding roads.
The car’s advanced Nissan 360 Safety Shield also ensured a safe and steady ride, while features like Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Intelligent Emergency Braking provided added confidence. The day ended in Ipoh, known for its colonial architecture and food culture.
On top of that, on Day 2, the route from Ipoh to Kuala Lumpur allowed participants to experience the powerful acceleration of the Kicks e-POWER’s 100 percent electric motor on open highways. Once in the city, the car’s Intelligent Around View Monitor made city parking and low-speed maneuvers easy, offering a 360-degree view of the surroundings.
Since its debut in 2020, the Nissan Kicks e-POWER has expanded across six ASEAN markets, including Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam, and now Malaysia. This journey marks an important milestone, showcasing the vehicle’s appeal in the ASEAN region.

Nissan’s e-POWER technology, first introduced in Japan in 2016, has reached over 1.5 million units in global production, further solidifying its role in Nissan’s electrified lineup. This cross-border journey exemplifies Nissan’s commitment to accelerating electrified mobility in Southeast Asia and bringing innovative, eco-friendly driving experiences to a broader audience.
