Geely, one of China’s leading automotive giants and the parent company of the renowned Volvo brand, has recently unveiled its plan to integrate a cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) model into DeepSeek’s R1 platform. This groundbreaking collaboration marks a significant milestone in the evolution of automotive technology.
Geely’s partnership with DeepSeek aims to enhance its Xingrui car control system, a smart vehicle AI platform, through a sophisticated training process involving DeepSeek’s R1 model. The collaboration will utilize the FunctionCall AI model, which plays a crucial role in controlling the vehicle’s functions.
Moreover, this distillation training process will refine a smaller AI model by leveraging insights and outputs from the more advanced R1 system. The result will be a significant improvement in the vehicle’s precision, efficiency, and overall functionality. The introduction of Geely’s Xingrui AI model on 11 January has been hailed as a revolutionary development in the automotive sector.
This full-stack AI system, entirely developed by Geely, is designed to cater to a wide range of automotive use cases. It is considered the first of its kind in the industry, offering a highly adaptive and intelligent system to manage diverse in-vehicle scenarios.
With this innovation, Geely has also firmly established itself as a leader in the transition to smarter, more autonomous vehicles. Geely, as the owner of Volvo and one of the largest automakers in China, has now become the first car manufacturer to partner with DeepSeek, an AI technology firm that gained international attention with the launch of its R1 model in January.
