First Locally Assembled Jaecoo J7 PHEV Rolls Off Production Line Ahead Of Launch

Jaecoo is investing heavily in Malaysia and is proving it with the J7 being assembled here

Malaysia is set to welcome a new Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) SUV by the end of February 2025, further enhancing the hybrid vehicle segment. Jaecoo, a new brand in the premium off-road SUV market, has confirmed that its first locally assembled J7 PHEV has already rolled off the production line at its Shah Alam facility, ahead of its official launch.

Jaecoo Malaysia Vice President, Emily Lek, highlighted that the Jaecoo J7 PHEV is designed to meet the growing demand for alternatives between Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicle (EV) options. The J7 PHEV offers the best of both worlds, combining the benefits of ICE and EV technology through its advanced Super Hybrid System (SHS).

Moreover, this innovative system is set to appeal to Malaysians who are looking to transition to hybrid energy mobility, providing both performance and fuel efficiency. As Malaysia’s EV ecosystem continues to evolve, Jaecoo is committed to offering peace of mind by ensuring that its network is well-equipped to support PHEV owners throughout their ownership journey.

The Jaecoo J7 PHEV promises exceptional performance with an impressive engine output, surpassing both traditional ICE vehicles and fully electric alternatives. Powered by the SHS technology, the J7 PHEV is a class leader in several key areas, including electric range, energy consumption, and endurance.

The vehicle also offers a remarkable pure electric range of 106km (based on NEDC), setting it apart from other vehicles in the same category. Additionally, it boasts the lowest fuel consumption in its class, with just 5.99 litres per 100km in a power-depleted state, making it a highly efficient option for consumers.

On top of that, recently, the Jaecoo J7 PHEV underwent a rigorous long-distance test, driving from Singapore to Hatyai, Thailand, and covering over 1,200km on a single charge. This test demonstrated the vehicle’s outstanding WLTP range, a standardized measure of the maximum distance an electric vehicle can travel on a single charge.

The Jaecoo J7 PHEV not only provides consumers with a premium hybrid SUV option but also supports Malaysia’s growing interest in environmentally friendly vehicles. As the market continues to embrace sustainable mobility solutions, Jaecoo is poised to make a significant impact, offering innovative technologies and a customer-centric approach that enhances the driving experience for all.
