The Malaysian Motorcycle of the Year (MMOTY) is officially here and started off strong
Allianz General Insurance Company Malaysia Berhad (Allianz ) has teamed up with BikesRepublic.com to host the first-ever Allianz-BikesRepublic.com Malaysian Motorcycle of the Year (MMOTY) Awards. The prestigious event took place recently at The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur, located in Subang, marking a milestone in the country’s motorcycle industry.
Sean Wang, CEO of Allianz General, shared his excitement about the sponsorship, saying, “After more than a decade of involvement in the popular Vehicle of the Year (VOTY) awards, we are proud to now sponsor the Malaysian Motorcycle of the Year awards. This event aims to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of motorcycle manufacturers and provide riders with deeper insights into the wide variety of motorcycles available in the market.”
Moreover, the MMOTY awards ceremony recognized 12 motorcycle categories and four industry awards. Among the key accolades presented were the Malaysian Motorcycle of the Year Overall Champion, Malaysian Motorcycle Personality of the Year, and Kapcai of the Year, among others.
A panel of distinguished experts and enthusiasts judged the awards, including Keshy Dillon, a motoring journalist with over 18 years of industry experience, Datuk Captain Nik Huzlan, organizer of the iconic Rimba Raid, and former actor and motorcycle enthusiast Jehan Miskin.
As the title sponsor, Allianz General also introduced their enhanced Allianz Motorcycle Plus coverage, offering extensive benefits for both riders and pillion passengers at no extra cost. This plan, tailored for motorcycles with engine capacities up to 250cc, includes coverage for accidental death or permanent disability, roadside assistance and a one-time RM1,000 flood relief benefit under the Rahmah Insurance Initiative.
On top of that, Allianz General, the number one general insurer in Malaysia with a market share of 14.6 percent, continues to provide innovative insurance solutions for motorcyclists.
