Xpeng X9 Debutes In RHD Form At Singapore Motor Show 2025

The Xpeng X9 right-hand drive model got its first showing in Singapore.

Malaysians have been pretty receptive of the Xpeng brand. It was introduced here by Bermaz late last year with the G6 crossover spearheading its success. According to government registration data, about 400 units were registered before the end of 2024. Not bad considering the brand doesn’t have the same clout as BYD and had to go up against the BYD Sealion 7 just weeks following its introduction here. That being said, Xpeng has decided to ‘spread the love’ a little across South East Asia by making the debut of its right hand drive X9 MPV model happen not in Malaysia but in Singapore instead.

That’s right, the Xpeng X9 MPV was first previewed at the first Singaporean Xpeng showroom but is now open for booking there too. This is a rather large electric people carrier will be open for purchase by the end of January with deliveries expected in March 2025. Indicative pricing is SG$315,000 with a small SG$5,000 discount for early bird bookings. What’s more, those who book the car during the Singapore Motor Show 2025 period stand a chance to win an overseas trip for two.

The Xpeng X9 is huge at 5,293mm long and 1,988mm wide. It has enough space for seven seats arranged in three rows with the middle row getting individual zero-gravity seats with ventilation and ten-point massage functionality. The MPV features 21.4″ rear displays and a 23-speaker Xopera Audio system plus ‘windless’ central air conditioning

The Xpeng X9 will be available in Singapore in two variants – a Standard and Long Range. Both models will have an output of 235kW and 450Nm of torque, allowing them to sprint from 0 to 100km/h in just 7.7 seconds. We’re talking about MPVs here, people. The Standard model gets an 84.5kWh LFP battery pack while the Long Range model gets a 101.5kWh NMC battery pack. It’s a similar arrangement to the G6 but without a performance penalty on the LFP model. NEDC range estimates put the X9 at between 580 – 680km depending on battery type. 800V architecture allows for quick charging from 10% to 80% in 20 minutes. Maximum DC charging speeds are 330kW.

It’s a little pricey and we’re not sure how much it’ll end up costing here in Malaysia but we really hope Bermaz considers bringing a few units of these in before the EV tax-free period expires. In Malaysia, it would go up against the Zeekr 009 and the Mifa 9.
