At CES 2025, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang kicked off the event with a major announcement about a new partnership with Toyota to revolutionize autonomous driving. This collaboration will integrate Nvidia’s cutting-edge Drive AGX Orin supercomputer and DriveOS operating system into Toyota’s upcoming vehicles, elevating their ADAS to new heights.

Toyota Motor Chairman Akio Toyoda shared his evolving stance on autonomous technology at CES 2025, revealing that he was once skeptical about the potential of self-driving cars.

Initially unveiled in 2022, the first phase of Woven City is set to launch by fall 2025. The development, located at the foot of Mount Fuji, will serve as a “living laboratory,” testing a wide array of innovative solutions, including autonomous mobility, personal mobility devices, and drones.
Toyota is also co-developing flying cars with Joby Aviation to offer seamless travel between Woven City and Tokyo, bypassing traditional road traffic. In a surprising move, Toyoda also revealed that Toyota is expanding its reach into space exploration.
Through its subsidiary Woven by Toyota, the company is investing US$4.44 million in Japanese space firm Interstellar Technologies.
