Mazda Unveils All-Electric 6e At Brussels Motor Show, Will Malaysia Get It?

How much should the Mazda 6e EV cost here in Malaysia if Mazda brings it in?

Mazda has unveiled its new all-electric vehicle, the Mazda 6e, at the 2025 Brussels Motor Show. This stylish electric fastback sports a familiar yet all new design and is set to launch in European markets in 2025, followed by UK availability in the first half of 2026. No confirmation on whether Malaysia or the East will get it but let’s hope we do for the EV enthusiasts here.

The Mazda 6e is an entirely new, mid-sized electric vehicle (EV) that breathes new life into the beloved Mazda 6, a model that gained popularity in Europe and the UK from 2002 to 2023. As a modern electric successor, the 6e boasts a sleek exterior, a refined interior, and apparently, also the brand’s signature driving experience.

Moreover, customers will be able to choose between two powertrain options, namely a 68.8kWh battery and an 80kWh battery. The 68.8kWh version offers an impressive EV range of up to 300 miles (about 483km), while the 80kWh version extends the range to a generous 345 miles (around 555km).

Both versions come in a rear-wheel drive setup, offer 320Nm of torque, and a smooth acceleration experience. The 68.8kWh variant can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 22 minutes, adding up to 145 miles of range in just 15 minutes. The 80kWh model charges to 80 percent in 45 minutes and supports DC rapid charging.

The Japanese brand’s signature design philosophy shines through in the Mazda 6e, which is built under the concept of “Electrifying Design Crafted to Perfection.” Its smooth, flowing lines and bold design elements showcase the next evolution of its “Kodo Soul of Motion” styling.

On top of that, the low roofline and coupe-like silhouette maintain the car’s sporty appeal while still offering the practicality of a five-door hatchback. Unique features like frameless doors, integrated door handles, and dynamic signature wing lights around the grille enhance the car’s modern, seamless aesthetic.

The Mazda 6e’s interior offers a premium and spacious environment, inspired by the Japanese design concept of ‘Ma,’ which celebrates the beauty of empty space. A panoramic lights up the cabin while the driver-focused cockpit features a 14.6-inch touchscreen, a 10.2-inch instrument cluster and an augmented reality head-up display.

Artificial leather in the Takumi trim and tan Nappa leather in the Takumi Plus trim, add to the interior’s sophistication. With a practical 330-litre boot, ample passenger space, and a 70-litre front boot, the Mazda 6e offers excellent versatility and usability. So what do you think? Would you like to see the Mazda 6e here in Malaysia?
