Honda 0 SUV and 0 Saloon EV Prototypes Shown At CES 2025

Honda Unveils Production-Intent 0 Series EVs at CES 2025

Honda has made progress on the EV front at CES 2025 with the reveal of two production-intent vehicles from its upcoming 0 Series electric lineup. The Japanese automaker showcased prototypes of both the sleek 0 Saloon and versatile 0 SUV, marking a significant step toward their planned 2026 market launch.

Honda 0 Saloon Concept side profile

The Honda 0 Saloon, positioned as the flagship model of the new series, builds upon the concept vehicle shown at CES 2024. The prototype maintains the concept’s striking low-slung proportions and sporty styling while promising more interior space than its exterior dimensions would suggest. A standout feature is Honda’s advanced Level 3 automated driving technology, which the company pioneered for production vehicles. The system will be complemented by a new “ultra-personal optimization” feature powered by ASIMO OS, designed to deliver a highly customized mobility experience for each user.

Alongside the Saloon, Honda presented its 0 SUV prototype, evolved from the Space-Hub concept that debuted at last year’s CES. This mid-size electric SUV emphasizes Honda’s “Thin, Light, and Wise” development philosophy, which has enabled the company to maximize interior volume while maintaining efficient exterior proportions. The SUV model particularly impresses with its cabin design, featuring what Honda describes as an “outstandingly clear and unrestricted field of view.”

Technical innovation extends to the 0 SUV’s driving dynamics, with Honda incorporating technology from its robotics division. The vehicle employs high-precision 3D gyro sensors for enhanced attitude estimation and stabilization control, promising responsive handling across various road conditions. This system leverages Honda’s extensive experience in robotics development to deliver precise driver control.

Both vehicles will be built on Honda’s newly developed dedicated EV architecture, though specific details about battery capacity, range, and performance figures remain under wraps. The introduction of these models represents a significant milestone in Honda’s electrification strategy, with both vehicles scheduled to debut first in the North American market in 2026, followed by launches in Japan, Europe, and other global markets.

The styling of both vehicles appears to signal a new design direction for Honda’s electric vehicles, moving away from conventional automotive forms toward a more technology-focused aesthetic. This approach is particularly evident in the 0 Saloon’s distinctive profile, which challenges traditional sedan proportions while maintaining practical functionality.
