Fake Parking Fine Scam Turns Out To Be Fake News, Please Don’t Share It

So the news about the parking scam was not real, so do not fall for this scam

So recently, there was a post online regarding a parking fine notice that is making the rounds but apparently, it is not real. Please be cautious, as this is a scam. A picture of a so-called “parking saman” (fine) has been circulating, and it may appear legitimate at first glance, but it is nothing more than a fraudulent attempt to steal your money.

The scam involves a fake parking fine notice that seems to come from an official source. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that this notice is entirely fabricated. The notice often includes a QR code for payment, leading unsuspecting victims to a fraudulent payment platform where their money is stolen.

Moreover, we urge you to never pay parking fines or any other penalties through QR codes unless you are absolutely certain of the legitimacy of the request. It should also be noted that the picture shared online is also not real and that everything that the original post said was also fake news so it is not likely that you will see this happen to you.

Okay, so it should go without saying that now that we know this news is fake, is to not share it and if you have shared it already, please delete it immediately. We should also all be wary when we receive news like this, particularly online and on Whatsapp, so before we share anything, we should always make sure it is legitimate first.

On top of that, I do know that sometimes, this is easier said than done, especially for many people when we receive “news” on whatsapp. I often receive lots of phony news from my mother as well and always have to remind her to not spread news until she is sure it is real or legitimate so please try and keep this in mind at least.

Please share this warning with your friends and family to help prevent others from spreading fake news. Remember, always be vigilant and skeptical of unexpected parking fines, especially those that demand immediate payment via questionable methods. Also always make sure you do not spread fake news and verify everything you receive.
