BYD delivered more than 4 million New Energy Vehicles in 2024, proudly claiming the Global Sales Champion
BYD has just achieved ra ecord-breaking global sales figure of 4.25 million passenger cars in 2024. This includes a staggering 1.76 million fully electric vehicles, narrowing the gap in the global EV market with Tesla’s 1.8 million.
Despite trailing Tesla in annual electric vehicle sales, BYD’s rise in sales (thanks to Malaysia, Australia and Thailand) has also been driven by strong domestic sales and government incentives which in contrast has seen the struggles of legacy well-known auto manufacturer like Nissan and Volkswagen (A recent statement from its staff representatives also has stated that the automaker will be slashing the pay of its remaining staff by 10% and implementing a 2-year wage freeze, in addition to downsizing all its remaining plants as part of its business overhaul plans) in China.
Meanwhile, 2025 will be even more staggering for BYD. Just Malaysia alone, as car buyers embrace the growing demand for electric vehicles (EVs), Sime Motors, the official distributor of BYD cars in the country, remains dedicated to providing exceptional care and peace of mind to all BYD owners. In 2024, the company celebrated the expansion of its comprehensive BYD after sales network, now featuring 21 service centres nationwide.
