Sime Motors, the official distributor of BYD cars in Malaysia, has officially launched East Malaysia’s first-ever BYD 3S Centre in Kota Kinabalu, a significant milestone for the region’s electric vehicle (EV) market.
Operated by Regas EV Sabah, this new facility brings BYD’s innovative electric mobility and low-carbon solutions closer to the people of Sabah, reinforcing BYD’s continued growth in Malaysia. The 1,288 square-meter BYD 3S Centre is strategically located in the heart of Kota Kinabalu and offers a complete range of services, including sales consultations, vehicle test drives, and after sales support.
Moreover, with a focus on providing a seamless customer experience, the centre is designed to ensure customers receive personalized assistance throughout their EV journey. Additionally, the centre is one of the first in Sabah to feature advanced DC Super Chargers, equipped with four charging guns that deliver up to 180kW of power for fast and efficient charging.
Jeffrey Gan, Managing Director of Retail and Distribution at Sime Motors, expressed pride in the partnership with Regas EV Sabah, emphasizing BYD’s commitment to enhancing customer service and solidifying its position as the No.1 EV brand in Malaysia. Datuk Matthew Tan, Managing Director of Regas EV Sabah, highlighted the centre’s role in Sabah’s transition to electric mobility.
On top of that, this new facility is not just for sales, it also includes body and paint services through authorised centres in Kuching and Kota Kinabalu, further enhancing the overall experience. The expansion of BYD in East Malaysia now includes three showrooms, specifically one in Sibu, Sarawak, another in Kuching that complements the Kota Kinabalu centre.
