With Leapmotor seeing global success, will the brand soar here in Malaysia as well?
In November 2024, Leapmotor, a prominent Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, achieved a major milestone by surpassing 40,000 vehicle deliveries in a single month for the first time. The company delivered a total of 40,169 units, marking a significant achievement in its growth trajectory.
By the end of November, Leapmotor had already exceeded its annual sales target, having delivered 251,207 vehicles year-to-date. Looking ahead, the company aims to reach an ambitious goal of delivering 500,000 vehicles annually in 2025. Leapmotor also released its financial results for the third quarter of 2024, highlighting impressive growth.
Moreover, the company reported a revenue of 9.86 billion yuan, reflecting an 83.9 percent quarter-over-quarter increase and a 74.3 percent year-on-year rise. This surge in revenue was accompanied by an improvement in its gross profit margin, which reached 8.1 percent.
Both sales and revenue reached record highs for the company, underscoring its expanding market presence. Furthermore, Leapmotor reported strong cash reserves and has been accelerating its global expansion, alongside enhancing its marketing and distribution network. In November, Leapmotor’s innovative approach to vehicle design also garnered international recognition.
A joint panel of designers from Maserati, Alfa Romeo and Jeep also evaluated the company’s first B platform-based model, the B10. The panel praised the B10 for its strategic product positioning, appealing design language, and effective integration of brand elements, noting its aesthetic value and global design sensibility.
On top of that, this evaluation reflects Leapmotor’s growing influence in the international automotive design community. The Leapmotor B10 made its domestic debut at the Auto Guangzhou 2024 in November, where it showcased several new color options, including Stellar Blue and Dawn Purple.
Additionally, the vehicle was presented in a special edition inspired by Van Gogh’s iconic painting, Starry Night Over the Rhône. The B10 is set to officially enter the market in the first quarter of 2025, positioning it as one of the company’s key models for continued growth and success.
With its expanding vehicle deliveries, robust financial performance, and innovative designs, Leapmotor is well on its way to becoming a key player in the global NEV market in the years to come. So with Leapmotor seeing more global success now, will the brand also be able to see major success here in Malaysia as well?
