The Kia Sportage got its starting price confirmed at RM145,999.
If you’re looking more options in the C-segment SUV space, you’ll be pleased to know that the all-new Kia Sportage is now open for booking at KLIMS 2024 with a price range between RM145,999 to RM185,999. This will be the first Sportage model to be offered under Dinamikjaya Motors distributorship. They also sell the Carnival MPV, Sorento SUV, EV6 and EV9 battery electric vehicles.
The Kia Sportage will be offered in four variants, the 2.0L, 2.0L High, 1.6T High, and 1.6T High AWD. The two engine choices on offer are a naturally-aspirated 2.0L Smartstream MPI 4-cylinder with a modest 154 hp and 192 Nm of torque output and a 1.6L turbocharged Gamma II direct injection engine with 177 hp and 265 Nm of torque. The 2.0L model is paired to a 6-speed conventional automatic while the 1.6L turbocharged model gets paired to a 7-speed DCT with an e-shifter.
4 exterior colour choices are also available: Astra Blue, Meteor Gray, Jet Black, and Snowflake White Pearl.

Looking at the spec sheet above, even the Kia Sportage 2.0L High spec seems to hit the perfect sweet spot for buyers who are looking for a solid, well-balanced, mainstream SUV for the family. That being said, the Surround View Monitor and Blind Spot Monitor are missing on this specification and could nudge a few buyers up to the turbo model which is fully featured.
This new Kia Sportage is built on the 3rd generation N3 platform with a driver focused design, loads of ultra-high strength steel and sound-absorbing materials. It will be locally-assembled at the Inokom Assembly plant in Kulim, Kedah. It comes with a 5-year/100,000km manufacturer warranty and a 5-year free scheduled maintenance package.
