Zeekr Opens 500th Global Showroom In Singapore And Launches 009 There Too

Will we see Zeekr open more showrooms here in Malaysia soon?

On 28 November, Zeekr celebrated the opening of its 500th global showroom in Singapore, marking a significant milestone for the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) brand. The new Zeekr Centre, located at 9 Leng Kee Road, spans two floors and is designed to offer an immersive, personalized experience for customers interested in EVs.

With the addition of the Singapore showroom, Zeekr now operates 447 stores in China and 53 internationally. Mars Chen, Vice President of Zeekr, expressed excitement about the milestone, stating, “We’re thrilled to celebrate this incredible achievement with the launch of our latest Zeekr Centre in Singapore as we expand our presence in Southeast Asia.”

Moreover, the Singapore showroom also introduced the Zeekr 009, the second model to be offered in the country after the Zeekr X, which was launched in August. The Zeekr 009 is available in both six- and seven-seat configurations, both powered by a 116 kWh battery, which provides a range of up to 582km on a full charge (WLTP).

This battery is slightly larger than the 108 kWh version used in China. With fast charging capabilities, the 009 can charge to 80 percent in just 30 minutes, although it likely doesn’t use the 5C CATL Kirin battery found in the Chinese version. In Singapore, only the dual-motor version of the Zeekr 009 is available, offering impressive performance with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.5 seconds.

On top of that, the seven-seat variant is priced at SGD 409,999 (approximately RM1,353,350), while the six-seat version is priced at SGD 419,999 (about RM1,386,443). In comparison, the Zeekr X is priced at SGD 199,900 (roughly RM659,936) for the rear-wheel-drive model and SGD 214,900 (around RM709,421) for the all-wheel-drive version.

These prices are significantly higher than those in China due to factors like Singapore’s Certificate of Entitlement (COE), which is required to own a car. Zeekr has sold over 360,000 vehicles globally and operates in 40 markets, including developed regions such as Australia and the European Union. The company has ambitious expansion plans and aims to have 520 showrooms worldwide by the end of 2024.
