Toyota Outrun 2024 Encourages Change In Community With Donation To NCSM

Toyota Outrun is leading by example to empower change in society

UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) has proudly donated RM200,000 to the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM), further demonstrating Toyota’s commitment to giving back to the community and its “Mobility for All” mission. The donation was formally presented today during a handover ceremony at NCSM, marking a meaningful collaboration between the two organisations to support cancer patients and promote inclusive well-being.

This donation is part of Toyota’s broader vision of social responsibility, which aligns with the company’s global initiatives such as the “Start Your Impossible” campaign. Launched alongside the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, this campaign highlights Toyota’s transition into a mobility-focused company and reinforces its commitment to inclusivity and innovation.

Moreover, Toyota’s partnership with the International Olympic and Paralympic Committees further underscores the company’s dedication to promoting positive social change through mobility. A key initiative under this vision is the Toyota Outrun, an annual fun run organised by UMWT to promote an active and healthy lifestyle.

More than just a fitness event, the Toyota Outrun also serves as a platform for raising funds for important causes. The proceeds from this year’s Toyota Outrun have been donated to NCSM, continuing Toyota’s long standing support for cancer research, prevention, and patient care.

On top of that, Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMWT, also emphasised Toyota’s belief in the power of mobility to improve lives. He said, “The Toyota Outrun 2024 embodies our commitment to health, inclusivity, and social responsibility. We are proud to partner with the National Cancer Society Malaysia for the second time, uniting people of all ages to support a cause that has a profound impact on our community.”

The 2024 Toyota Outrun took place on June 23, 2024, at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur, and attracted over 6,000 participants. The event raised RM200,000 for NCSM, a remarkable achievement that highlights the strength of community collaboration. The funds raised will be used to support NCSM’s cancer prevention programs, patient support services and research efforts, which are critical to advancing the fight against cancer.

This donation marks an important milestone in the ongoing partnership between UMWT and NCSM, reinforcing their shared commitment to improving the lives of cancer patients and their families. Through initiatives like the Toyota Outrun, both organisations continue to make a tangible difference in the lives of Malaysians.
