The Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé Range grows with a performance AMG and a PHEV model too.

The luxury SUV landscape in Malaysia receives a significant upgrade with Mercedes-Benz’s latest offerings – the GLC 350 e 4MATIC Coupé and the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé. These new additions to the GLC lineup showcase advanced hybrid technology and performance-focused engineering, catering to distinct market segments within the premium SUV category.

Starting at RM 425,888, the GLC 350 e 4MATIC Coupé represents a significant leap forward in plug-in hybrid technology. This innovative SUV delivers an impressive all-electric range exceeding 100 kilometers (WLTP), making it a practical choice for daily commuting and weekend getaways. The vehicle maintains its electric capabilities up to 140 km/h, demonstrating Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to sustainable luxury mobility.

Performance enthusiasts will appreciate the GLC 350 e’s system output of 313 hp and 550 Nm of torque, enabling a swift 0-100 km/h acceleration in 6.7 seconds. The combination of a 204 hp combustion engine and a 100 kW electric motor creates a versatile driving experience that balances power with efficiency.

The more performance-oriented Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé, priced at RM 498,888, showcases AMG’s engineering excellence with its hand-crafted 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. This powerhouse delivers an impressive 421 hp and 500 Nm of torque, supplemented by an additional 14 hp from its belt-driven starter generator. The result is a remarkable 4.8-second sprint from 0-100 km/h, placing it firmly in high-performance SUV territory.

Both models feature distinctive exterior designs that emphasize their sporty character. The GLC 350 e comes equipped with 20-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels, while the AMG GLC 43 steps up to 21-inch AMG Y-spoke wheels. Each variant includes the sophisticated DIGITAL LIGHT system with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, ensuring optimal visibility in various driving conditions.

Interior refinements in both models reflect Mercedes-Benz’s premium positioning. The GLC 350 e features ARTICO man-made leather upholstery with metal structure trim elements, while the AMG GLC 43 elevates the experience with AMG sport seats in ARTICO/MICROCUT microfiber upholstery and carbon-fiber trim elements. Both models come equipped with the Burmester® 3D surround sound system, providing an immersive audio experience.

Advanced driver assistance features are standard across both variants, including the Driving Assistance Plus package. This comprehensive suite includes Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Lane Keeping Assist, and PRE-SAFE® Impulse Side, positioning these vehicles at the forefront of automotive safety technology.

The AMG GLC 43 distinguishes itself with additional performance-focused features, including AMG-specific styling elements, red MANUFAKTUR seat belts, and an AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather. The model also benefits from the AMG Night Package, which adds distinctive visual elements to its exterior design.

Practicality hasn’t been overlooked, with both models offering generous cargo space despite their coupé styling. The GLC 350 e provides a payload capacity of 520 kg, while the AMG GLC 43 offers slightly more at 540 kg, ensuring these vehicles remain practical for daily use despite their performance credentials.

Technology integration is comprehensive across both models, featuring Mercedes-Benz’s latest MBUX system. The AMG GLC 43 adds augmented reality navigation capabilities, enhancing the user experience with real-time visual guidance. Both models include KEYLESS-GO Comfort Package and THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control, ensuring convenience and comfort in daily operation.

The introduction of these models represents a significant milestone for Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, particularly with the AMG GLC 43 being the second locally-assembled AMG vehicle featuring a hand-built engine. This development not only demonstrates the brand’s commitment to the Malaysian market but also highlights the technological capabilities of local production facilities.
